Optional registration? No captcha? 100% anonymous? Should sage remain relevant? What would you like to see? Can an art-anon perhaps make a mock-up?

From txtchan
"Let's take a look at what features imageboards, textboards, other forums BBSes and social media websites offer.
imageboards:
4chan --
Has a native extension with various options for hiding and highlighting posts or threads. Can insert custom CSS etc with it as well.
Two ways to view a board, catalog and index (also infinite scrolling)
Autoupdater
Thread watcher
(you)
backlinks
post hiding
bump limit ranging from 300 to 500
etc. (really so many that I don't care to list them all)

8ch --
board creation with owners and many options for customizing their board.
autoupdating and many of the same features that 4chan has
screencap -- save the whole thread as an image

4taba --
No need to have an image to create a thread
autoupdater and watcher
(you) iirc

all of them have stylesheets

textboards --
all as far as I know at least have two stylesheets
kaerha board options: IDs, captcha, date, name field, 1000 post limit per thread, no bump limit unless permasaged by mod/admin, user-deletion, optimized quotes and url (i.e. can page through the first 100 posts, next 100 or put X in a url and it'll show posts to that number), link field, tripcodes, kaerha markup options, rss

sageru:
No date on posts, can't tell precisely how old they are. You might be able to say "this one was created before this one" but that's probably as far as you'll get.
No IDs
Name field
Bees (currently disabled)
Rules
Cool quotes
one board
link field
tripcodes
kaerhah markup options
preview button
rss
no captcha

26ch:
No IDs
Name field
No self-deletion
one board
tripcodes
kaerhah markup options
preview button
rss
(originally had no captcha)

tablecat:
No IDs
BBCode instead of kaerhah markup options
No link field
(runs tablecat instead of kaerhah)
sage and preview checkboxes
no rss
Optimized quotes
No stylesheets
no captcha

post office:
odd presentation of threads
No IDs
BBCode
Optimized quotes
image gallery
youtube gallery
No stylesheets
No rss
No self-deletion
no captcha
savoq:
No rss
Music
Pay to post
No self-deletion
Optimized quotes
Image gallery & multiple boards
No link field
BBCode
sorting options
no captcha

goatfinger:
image gallery
BBCode
sorting options
multiple boards
No IDs
No self-deletion
No captcha

4-ch:
image gallery
multiple boards (if not too many for some)
IDs except for on DNQ
kaerhah formatting options
optimized quotes
stylesheets
No name field, depends upon board
mittens
archive
banners (on some boards)
rss on all but /ascii/

For the newly created boards, the most popular thing seems to be no IDs and no captcha.

As for the best options for "The optimal textboard that everyone would be pleased with?", you won't be able to make one that fits those requirements."

Private messaging would be nice. Also, being able to edit and delete your posts.

Couldn't you just return to reddit?

I think most features her could be canned, most importantly all of that garbage under 'more options....' that only serves to hide the ability to BBCode and also the captcha should go. Fact is, this board style is old-hat now. Tablecat BBS is the way of the future -- no faggy shit, just bbcode and no captcha. Also, no backlinks and no hidden element reply field. So go with Tablecat BBS v1.0

Great idea!

9 Name: Anonymous : 2017-08-07 08:20

How about hashtags instead of threads? Kind of like an anon twitter?

There are already sites like that such as torvalds.xyz.

Here's a different one.
https://tokumei.co/
Supposedly it is running on the same software.

I think that's just the host site for the software. The only tokumei site that is listed there is tokumei.club which gives me a 502 - Bad Gateway.
